The Blackberry bramble (latin: Rubus spp..) is a well known bramble around the world. A favourite summer activity of my childhood was finding a bramble patch and harvesting buckets and buckets of the sweet berries.

Blackberry vines are particularly capable of spreading – a natural example of a propagation technique known as ‘tip layering’ – a vine will grow up and over, and, when it meets the ground, will root, grow up, and repeat the process.

The Blackberry is a symbol of protection, growth, and success.
